New Blood Stage Preview: REZINWOLF

Rezinwolf New Blood Stage Bloodstock

The New Blood Stage exists to provide a platform for the next generation of metal talent to reach a wider audience. From Bloodstock’s very beginning back in 2001 there has been a focus on offering a chance for newcomers – the new blood if you will – to strut their stuff.

The New Blood Stage is an exceptional opportunity for emerging acts to perform in front of Bloodstock’s dedicated audience of metal fans and important music industry figures. Those lucky enough to secure a slot on the New Blood Stage also get to play both Wacken Open Air in Germany and Metal Camp in Slovenia.

Bloodstock’s always supported the next generation of bands and to me it was obvious they needed a platform to show their wares – Bloodstock founder Paul Raymond Gregory

The band at Bloodstock most likely to:Blow your ears clean off your head!!!

Give me the ‘Hollywood Film’ version of how the band formed and how you came to be named.

In a blaze of fire and fury, in a place where music meets pure steel, four nomads unite and strike a killing blow on mundane everyday life. Upon their travels, engraved in stone they come across an ancient scripture and thus the order of the Rezinwolf is born!

What style of metal do you play?

At the core of our sound is good old fashioned thrash metal but we like to include elements from modern, and dare I say it, more mainstream metal bands.

What bands would you say your music is ‘for fans of’ ?

I would like to think the old school fans will be able to find something they like in our music, as well as fans of new bands such as Sylosis and Malefice due to our willingness to stray from our roots and embrace metal from 2013.

How did you get your slot at the Festival?

We were asked to play.

What’s the first thing you did after you found out you had a slot?

Check that I wasn’t dream as it has always been a huge ambition of ours to play the festival.

Which of your tracks do you think will create the biggest wave of headbanging?

I think I’m going to have to go with Hail To Armageddon. Not only is it our most popular song at the minute, its a heavy, skull crushing song. Perfect for headbanging, circle pitting and anything you feel like doing to it!

Is this the largest event you have played, and what are the nerves like?

Yes this is the largest, and as for nerves I think we just wanna hit the stage and show everybody what Rezinwolf is all about.

Which band members are likely to have the most incriminating photos  after the festival?

I think that would most likely be me or Kirk, I have a habit of finding myself in compromising situations, and Kirk is just a through and through deviant!

Which bands are you most looking forward to seeing?

For me the highlights of the festival are going to be Municipal Waste, Lamb of God and our buddies in Shrapnel! Of course though, I’m going to be running round like a headless chicken attempting to cram in as much metal as I can Bloodstock 2013 New Blood Stage Preview: REZINWOLF rezinwolf photo .

What have been the best moments  for you at previous Bloodstock Festivals?

This year is the first year for all of the band members so we going to make sure its a memorable one!

What is your current release? Explain a little about it….

We will actually be releasing our debut album Corruption Kingdom to coincide with our performance, so ensure to pick up a copy!

Lastly, a set clash with a main stage band, give a good reason/threat/sob story as to why fans should come watch you instead..

Hmmm we should be a priority because it will be a performance people will be talking about for the whole weekend (for good or for bad!) and you’ll be gutted if you missed all the action firsthand!

Rezinwolf are playing Bloodstock Festival on Friday 9th August.
